From now through March 16th, the SMPS Outreach Committee and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Women in Pharma (WIP) are joining forces to support Rosie’s Place in the spirit of International Women’s Day on March 8th and to give back! Rosie’s Place, founded in 1974, was the first women-only shelter in the United States. What began as a safe place for homeless women to get a bed and a meal, has grown into a community center providing wide-ranging support, education, and outreach services to 12,000 women a year. Unfortunately, the guests at Rosie’s Place still struggle to get the necessities they need such as toothpaste and soap and other toiletry items.

SMPS Boston Outreach and ISPE WIP hope that our members can help meet this need by creating care packages that will be distributed to Rosie’s Place guests. Want to volunteer to help create care packages? Register today!

Volunteers will meet at AKF’s office on Thursday, March 16 between 11:30 - 1:00 pm to create care packages (lunch will be provided). The packages will be delivered to Rosie’s Place on Monday, March 20th between 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
