Join us for Boston’s 2025 Canstruction Competition - a unique event where creativity meets community impact. Canstruction is a design-build competition that brings the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) community together to fight food insecurity.  The 2025 theme is Games! From board games to video games, playground classics to brain-teasing puzzles, this year’s challenge invites teams to play with creativity and strategy. Whether you build to win, level up, or just roll the dice now’s your chance to join the fun! Ready to play? 

Event Highlights

The key dates that you need to plan for this year are:  

  • Can drop-off: Friday, October 3rd

  • Build Day: Saturday, October 4th

  • Awards Celebration: Wednesday, October 15th

  • De-Canstruction: Saturday, October 25th

Participation Details

  • Multi-day Commitment: Teams must be available for both build and decanstruction days.

  • Team Limit: Only the first 14 teams to register and pay the fee will be able to compete. If registration closes and you’d like to be added to a waitlist, please email us at [email protected].

Canstruction is a friendly competition where teams from all over Massachusetts come together to showcase their creativity and vie for awards, and at the heart of it all is a shared commitment to making a positive impact in our communities. The 2024 competition saw 26,947 cans benefit the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, an organization that serves individuals and families in 32 cities and towns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Cancellation Policy: Registration fee for this event is non-refundable. If your team is unable to participate, we will transfer your event registration fee to an SMPS event sponsorship recognition.
