Meet the SMPS Boston Board: Britt-Anya Bursell, Treasurer

Britt-Anya Bursell discovered her love of marketing (and event planning) when she started her career at a software start-up that was acquired by Cisco Systems. After the Silicon Valley crash, she was brought into the A/E/C industry as a Marketing Assistant at Cambridge Systematics. She learned the ropes and climbed the department ladder to Senior Associate over her nearly 15 years there.

Britt became involved in SMPS back in 2016, after her manager encouraged her to join and get involved. She felt as though she was making up for lost time, and joined the Special Events Committee as soon as she became a member. Her dedication paid off and Britt was honored with the New Member of the Year Award in 2018. Joining a committee and becoming involved in the Boston chapter has been invaluable to Britt, who deeply values being part of this wonderful community. She fervently recommends joining a committee to all new members of SMPS Boston. Before her current role as SMPS Boston Treasurer, Britt served as the Director of Special Events.

In Britt's current role as a Marketing Operations Team Lead for Tighe&Bond, she stays busy wearing the many hats of marketing, managing her department, and working with firm leadership to elevate the firm's marketing and business development strategy and activities. When Britt is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family. When she gets a moment to herself, she enjoys catching up on her sci-fi shows and books.
