LinkedIn Profile
Years Involved in SMPS: 5 years

What SMPS committees are you involved with, if any?
Not currently involved, but I previously served on the Communications Committee for several years, including as Co-Chair.

What drew you to joining SMPS?
I first joined a marketing organization that wasn’t specific to the AEC industry and struggled to find programs relevant to my role in work acquisition at a construction management firm. Switching to SMPS made an immediate difference. I connected with peers who understand the unique challenges of AEC marketing, and the professional development programs align with the work I do every day.

How do you explain your job to people who have never worked in AEC?
I’m a storyteller. My job is to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling messaging that helps clients understand who we are, what we do, and why we’re the right partner.

What is your favorite part about your work?
I love the puzzle of it all. As a proposal manager, I enjoy leading the effort to pull every RFP requirement into one cohesive package. So many people contribute to the development of the proposal, and I like shaping all those pieces into something that feels unified rather than disjointed. Being part of that first client touchpoint means the pressure is on to make a strong impression, and I enjoy that challenge.

And of course, nothing beats hearing that we won the project. Seeing a completed building years later and remembering the proposal that started it all is such a rewarding full‑circle moment.

What is a way that you de-stress from work, either in or outside of the workplace?
Honestly, I go outside. Fresh air and movement are my favorite ways to decompress. Even a quick walk away from my desk can reset my mind and spark new ideas. I’m also working on hiking all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000‑footers, one peak at a time. Stress tends to melt away when you remember you’re part of something much bigger than whatever’s on your screen.

What are you currently watching, reading, or listening to?
I love long walks, and I’m always curating playlists to match my mood. Some are upbeat to keep my pace up, others are instrumental so I can let my imagination run wild. Right now I’m eager for spring, so I’ve been listening to my Spring Playlist, all songs with “spring” in the title. A few favorites are by Caroline Polachek, Lizzy McAlpine, and Hania Rani.
