Presidential Thoughts: Re-engage

Fall often brings about feelings of nostalgia. Returning to routine following a summer reprieve somehow transports me back to childhood. I think about reconnecting with school friends, kicking off fall sports, getting ready for the holidays. The season always seems full of excitement and opportunity. 

The Board of Directors has packed my calendar with a full slate of programs, training, and networking events. Keep an eye on our events page as they get posted in the coming weeks. Some may seem distantly familiar, refreshed for our current environment. Some are new to SMPS entirely. Everything has been thoughtfully developed with you in mind. As a board, we remain committed to providing content that positions you for successful growth as marketers. You can expect experiences that are educational and inspiring. And as always, there will be a bit of fun in there.

My school year has been replaced with the SMPS year, but the excitement remains the same. The fall calendar is full of AEC events and dinners with industry friends. I’ll be creeping into your inbox in the coming weeks with special invites and before you know it,  you’ll be juggling industry holiday parties (prioritizing SMPS, of course).

As we kick off the year, I invite you all to re-engage. Re-engage with events that fell off your radar the last few years. Re-engage with the connections and mentee relationships you cultivated over the years. There’ll be no shortage of opportunities.  I’ll certainly be more active this year then probably any year in my SMPS career, and I look forward to reengaging with you all!
