This past Sunday I took the fam to see the Canstruction Boston structures. We live 45 minutes outside of Boston so we made a whole afternoon of it: We parked in the Atlantic Wharf garage ($12 on weekends and weeknights after 5pm!), took the elevator up to the 280 Congress Street lobby and perused the four structures there, wandered over to the legendary Barking Crab for some nosh, explored Martin's Park (an absolute must-visit if you have littles), saw South Coast Improvement Company's subject up close at the Hood Milk Bottle for a sweet treat, went to the 290 Congress Street lobby to see the eight other structures where Eva voted for her favorite, then we took the elevator in that lobby down to our car and headed home. It was a beautiful day to be out and about, and everything is so central to the Atlantic Wharf location that we didn't get any blisters from walking!
Voting for People's Choice ends at noon next Tuesday 10/15, visit these amazing installations at 280 and 290 Congress Street, scan the QR code of your favorite, and get your vote in before then! The race is tight, over 2,000 people have voted so far - even if you can't get there, you can still vote online here.
Canstruction Boston, an annual charity event that combines design, creativity, and social responsibility, has become a beloved tradition in the AEC industry since its inception in 1995. The event centers around the construction of impressive sculptures made entirely from canned food, which are then displayed and later donated to local food banks. I'm incredibly proud to be on the small committee that brings this event to life.
Structures will remain up until 10/25, but don't miss out on the voting fun!
