LinkedIn Profile

Years Involved in SMPS: I first joined SMPS in 2019 and was involved for 2.5 years before briefly stepping away from the industry. After a year and a half, I returned and have now been back for another two years—bringing my total involvement to approximately 4.5 years!

What SMPS committees are you involved with, if any?
I am currently a member of the Special Events Committee.

Why did you decide to join SMPS?
As the sole marketing professional at my firm, SMPS was highly recommended to me as a way to connect with others in similar roles. I saw it as a great opportunity for growth, support, and professional development, and I’m so glad I joined. Over the years, I’ve found immense value in the educational sessions and networking events, including the summer social, holiday party, and awards gala. I’ve enjoyed meeting new people, seeing familiar faces, and being part of a community that truly understands the unique challenges and rewards of marketing in the A/E/C industry.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining SMPS?
Join! SMPS is an incredible resource for us marketing professionals in the industry. It provides a network of people who understand both the struggles and victories of your role. I also highly recommend getting involved in a committee—it’s a great way to meet more people and feel more connected to the chapter. Additionally, I participated in the mentorship program last year, which was great for me. It helped me build deeper connections, gain valuable advice, and develop strategies that have enhanced my day-to-day work so I would also recommend that for anyone new or considering joining.

What do you work toward in your free time?
I’m always striving for self-improvement, both personally and professionally. Health and fitness are my passions—I love trying new recipes and following my workout program – it’s really made a difference in my physical and mental health. Lately, I’ve also been focusing more on personal growth by stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself in new ways.

What are you currently watching, reading, or listening to?
I’m currently listening to the Mel Robbins Podcast! It’s my go-to right now for life advice, expert guest speakers, and a wide range of topics that help with personal growth. I also just picked up her new book, Let Them, which focuses on shifting your energy away from things you can’t control and instead prioritizing what truly matters—you!
