What SMPS committees are you involved with, if any?
I have served on the membership committee, then as membership director, vice president/president-elect, president, past president, and now a member of the operations and finance committee supporting the treasurer.

Why did you decide to join SMPS?
My marketing manager in 2012 asked me to join SMPS and get on a committee. That was the best push I could have asked for! I am a believer in getting involved in anything you’re a member of, and joining a committee was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made for my career. My network and involvement in the organization started to blossom instantly and I am so grateful for the opportunities that SMPS has provided me.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining SMPS?
I think we all say the same thing here… it’s a no-brainer. If you are looking to grow in your career or personal development, this is the place for you. The SMPS community is like no other organization, and even better to have a huge group of people who ‘get’ you at work. SMPS has opened opportunities for me in my personal and professional life, and I am forever grateful for that. You get out what you put in, so invest in yourself and join us in this incredible place! As a past president and someone who genuinely believes in all that SMPS has to offer, I would love to talk with anyone who feels stuck in their career or is looking for advice - this level of connection is part of the beauty of SMPS!

What do you work toward in your free time?
I have two daughters who keep me extra busy! They are 5 and 1 and if I’m not working I’m doing dance or tea parties with them!

What are you currently watching, reading, or listening to?
I’ve been listening to podcasts about AI to stay on top of what’s going on there in AEC, and I love reading and listening to thought leadership from Ryan Estis - highly recommend!
