Highlights from Member Spotlights

Caroline Fitzgerald, Director of Northeast Client Relations at RMF Engineering

What is your favorite SMPS memory?
In 2012, I joined Kim Sousa, Tricia Soulard, and Lizetta Fenessy in giving a workshop at the national SMPS conference in San Francisco on insights into how to be simultaneously successful in your professional career and raising a family. We had a very engaged audience, and I thought about it often during those first weeks of the pandemic when suddenly everyone had a front row seat to the challenges of doing two or three jobs at the same time.

Kate Thompson, Senior Marketing Specialist at VHB

Why did you decide to join SMPS?
When I first started working at VHB about three-and-a-half years ago, my FABULOUS manager strongly encouraged me to join SMPS to gain insights about the AEC industry, learn best practices for marketing processes, and build relationships with colleagues across the region. Since joining, I've attended SMPS NERC twice; both times have been informative experiences and excellent opportunities to connect with fellow AEC marketers. During just three short years with SMPS, I've learned so much about industry trends—from effectively managing proposals to editing technical content without having a technical background to ethically using emerging technologies like AI—and I’ve had the opportunity to co-lead a workshop at SMPS NERC 2024 with a fantastic group of coworkers!
