Feeding Boston! SMPS Volunteers at the Greater Boston Food Bank

SMPS Outreach Committee, along other SMPS committee members and friends, volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) on Tuesday May 10, 2022, from 1-4pm. The group sorted and packaged food to distribute to area families in Tewksbury and Mattapan. With food insecurity at an all-time high, the need to support our local food pantries has never been greater. At the GBFB, 4,368 meals feed a family of 4 for 1 year; this volunteer group made 5,458 meals possible for the Tewksbury Brown Bag Site and 3,967 meals possible for the Mattapan site. The group assembled a total of 317 boxes. SMPS Boston will also be making a $1,000 donation to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Volunteers included:
